In 1932, an operation like no other took place in Australia, where soldiers armed with machine guns went to war against the emus. It was a complete washout for the humans, but I bet the emus were doing a little dance of victory. Whatever, victors are overrated.
Now, ten years later, a new Emu War is around the corner. The stakes are higher, hope is soaring, and the thrill is off the charts. Grab your instant coffee, we’re filming round two.

Why were the guns not enough?
Having been unable to interview the defeaters — for obvious reasons — we had to settle with the defeated. After much searching through records, contacts, press releases, we finally found our war stars:
Private Fredrick , who was sent by his therapist on a rematch with the emus.
General Jax , whose service medals couldn’t save her husband from the emus; but she’s not one to forget.
Finally, Peter , farm boy by day, pushover by night.
Unfortunately Australia is very, very far away from Europe. Did you actually think we would film there? It turns out it’s cheaper to bring Australia here than it is to travel there.
So, we decided to stay put. I mean, come on. We’re students, our currency is passion . This short movie is our grand project , and when the time comes for movie festival nominations, it will hopefully make the critics proud — and I don’t just mean our mommas. Don’t worry, it’s not our first time holding a camera. We know our way around film production , from scratching up the first ideas, to turning them into full-fledged movies.
And by motion pictures, we mean, of course, a mockumentary. You know, if David Attenborough followed the hobbits with a camera as they prepared to embark for the Mount of Doom.
